Sarah Palin As Seen Through the Prism of Alaskan Politics & Culture

Sarah Palin is a political lightening rod in America.  You either love her or disdain her.

Nevertheless, if you honestly want to know who Sarah Palin really isread this commentary regarding Wally Hickel; a man who was deeply immersed in Alaskan and national politics for over 40 years; a man who as a previous two-term Alaska governor, initially supported Sarah Palin when she ran for the state’s highest office; a man who later lived to regret that decision.

Yesterday, Wally Hinkel’s life was celebrated on radios and televisions all across the State of Alaska, as he was publically layed to rest.

Palin lamely attempted to pay tribute to Hickel’s enormous public service, intentionally highlighting only his achievements that fit her own personal political agenda.

It was Wally Hickel who, metaphorically speaking, had the last word.  He made one of his most powerful political statements in the last year before passing on; an opinion that ironically allows Wally to speak from beyond his grave, and a comment that says volumes about Sarah Palin:

“I don’t give a damn about her.”

                                                          -Wally Hickel 1919-2010

May he rest in peace.

Because many of us will not, so long as this fraud continues to cast her long, dark shadow over the American political landscape.

Christian Right-Wing Homophobe Apparently Likes Carrying Well-Endowed Rentboy’s “Luggage”

“Me Thinks Thou Dost Protest Too Loudly”

                   – paraphrase of quote from William Shakespeare’s “Hamlet”

George Rekers has been one of America’s most vehemently anti-gay activists over the past three decades.  He is also a Baptist minister, co-founder of the ultra-conservative Family Research Council – which holds the annual Values Summit, and he is a professor of neuropsychiatry at the University of South Carolina  – that bastion of intellectual curiosity.  Well OK, at the very least maybe closeted sexual curiosity.

But I digress . . .

He shops at Rent-A-Boy – Rentboy.com - anytime he needs a luggage handler. Of course, Rekers denies that it was anything untoward or sexual in nature.  He just needed a little help after having surgery with carrying all that heavy luggage while on vacation – or was it the other way around?  Sure looks like he recovered quickly from that surgery.  And his boy-toy seemed to equivocate regarding the nature of their little 10 day jaunt together through Europe when confronted by a reporter.

Besides, I suspect the boy-toy’s “luggage” was the heavier of the two, and he needed Rekers’ help to “pack-it tight” every night.

I cannot wait to hear Sean Hannity or Ann Coulter spin this one on Fox News:  “Oh, you Left-wing, Liberal media-types need to quit focusing on such insignificant details, and get your heathen minds out of the gutter.  You always try to make everything so political.”

You mean like Republican Senator Larry Craig’s “reach-under” in a men’s restroom at the Minneapolis Airport in 2007?

However, the story does end on a positive note.  Hey George, you just made the list of America’s Top 10 Homophobes Outed From the Closet.  And you went straight up the chart to # 1 . . . probably while sitting atop your boy-toy’s ”perfectly built 8 inch cock” (those are his words, George, not mine).

Let me guess . . . you use that “8 inch rod” to hang all your Hawaiian shirts on?

Vatican Now Invokes Anti-Semitism in Shameless Ploy to Deflect Criticism Regarding Sex Abuse Scandal

Jews Killed Jesus

“You shall not merely be deported. You shall be killed..And this will be your punishment for your killing of our saviour.”

              – Slovakian Catholic Archbishop Karol Kmetko, responding to Jewish plea for assistance from Nazi persecution (March of 1942)

The Vatican has now reached a all-time low in it’s attempts to silence critics of its vain crusade to exculpate itself from any responsibility for 50+ years of a perpetual international criminal conspiracy to cover-up the widespread existence of pedophiles among it’s clergy.

This author posted several recent entries, here and here, providing undeniable proof demonstrating the Church’s willful and wanton actions to conceal evidence of these incomprehensible moral and legal crimes against children all over the world.  Moreover, the Vatican and it’s proxies further facilitated these reprehensible acts by allowing pedophile priests to continue in their vocation, thereby allowing them to further sexually molest other innocent children.

All in the name of God.

In response to it’s indefensible and unconscionable acts, the Vatican is now comparing criticism of it’s scandalous behavior to anti-Semitism.   So like changing water into wine, I now have been miraculously converted into the likes of an anti-Semite merely because I have assisted in exposing the hypocrisy of the Catholic Church’s hierarchy?

How utterly despicable

Notwithstanding historical evidence of anti-Semitism within its own ranks, coupled with a papal apology for the Church’s contribution to the Nazi Holocaust, what is most paradoxical are the uncanny similarities in which two of the greatest crimes against humanity – the Holocaust, and now this global Catholic pedophilia conspiracy – were both denied by their respective perpetrators.  In the case of the former, by the German people; in the case of the latter, by The Vatican.

The comparisons stop there.  In the case of the German people, at least they voluntarily worked up the courage to accept responsibility when faced with the overwhelming evidence of the horrific crimes committed by their government while they idly stood by and did nothing.  Their ongoing repentance has garnered a remarkable forgiveness from the rest of the world as time has gone on.  Germany has even gone so far as to criminalize anti-Semitic behavior, as well as Holocaust denial.

In contrast, these cowardly ploys by the Vatican to demonize it’s detractors only further serves to demonstrate the deep denial that masks the manifest socio-pathological condition that envelopes this evil organization.  One can expect nothing less from such a spiritually-corrupt, and morally bankrupt institution.  The hour is now way too late for any apology.

The Vatican’s acts speak for themselves.

Republican’s Will Repeal Health Care Reform by Supporting the “Local Ballet” and Rolling the Dice

 Stripper_on_a_Pole

You know how Republicans get that insidiously evil “Obamacare” Health Reform Bill overturned?

First, you have to have a bit of a kick-off party at the Voyeur, as well as be willing to roll the dice again and take a walk on the wild side in West Hollywood.  All to the tune of approximately $2000.  And that price does not even include the $30k for hotel rooms at the Beverly Hills Hotel and the Four Seasons Beverly Wilshire.

I mean, this is important stuff.  The future of our great country hangs in the balance.  They will spare no expense in saving this country.  Don’t you understand?  These are Republicans.  However, they do stand for fiscal restraint.  So they will make sure you got your monies worth while preserving Freedom and Liberty, as well as keeping those young scantily-clad girls with whips and chains fully employed.

After all, even those girls are good Capitalists

And I do mean FULLY employed – don’t forget that these establishments are open all night, and the girls dance ’til the crack of dawn.   They know they have to keep “the wheels greased” and get their ”hands a little dirty” in order to keep this broken, worthless “Socialist” economy running long enough to get a Republican back into the Whitehouse.

And surely you don’t think these good Republicans would let that opulent hotel suite go to waste on just themselves, do you?  You know that in their heart-of-hearts they believe in the theory of “trickle-down” economics . . . when they spend big, everyone benefits.  Besides, when it comes to some things, even a Republican has a little ”Socialist” deep down inside of him.  After all, charity starts at home . . . or on the road, as the case may be.

And speaking of deep down inside . . . it’s important to educate these nice young ladies from the “ballet” with some deep and meaningful conversation regarding how Obama is ruining the economic foundations and moral fiber of this country, and then give her some $100 bills for her “lobbying” efforts, and call room service for another round of  those awesome $45 Cuba Libres.

Hey, not that I object to hanging out with young, scantily-clad women.  For goodness sakes, I too am a red-blooded American male.  You see, the difference is that we Liberals don’t have the moral hangups most Conservatives do, and we don’t write it off or hide it.  We just pay for it ourselves – WITH CASH - and then we do not have to answer to anyone

Ummm . . . including our wives or significant others.   :)

P.S.  As an aside, about 10 years ago while on a week-long golf junket with my Conservative buddies, I was tossed out of one these “ballet clubs”.  All for a silly prank – nothing untoward or obscene.  In fact, that little joint on Hilton Head Island let me back in the next night with a promise from me that I would “mind my manners” – while reminding me that they could get their license pulled for my silly antics.   The dancer that I was acting up with the night before told me with a smile that I was a “very naughty boy”.  I proudly laughed, and all was forgiven.

Sarah Palin’s Speech to Teabaggers in Nevada is Utterly Dead Right on Message

Sarah Palin Hunts Down and Proudly Kills Liberty

Sarah Palin addressed thousands of Tea Party activists on Saturday in the desert outside of Searchlight, Nevada – home of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.  You do not have to be a rocket scientist to figure out that the location of this rally was not coincidental.

True to form, Sarah was right on message for a Tea Party leader when giving her speech:

“What we are doing, folks, we are rolling up our sleeves and we are getting down to business and getting back to the common sense conservative principles that made this country the greatest country on earth, and we are not going to sit down and shut up.”

In other words folks, we are going to continue to harass, intimidate, threaten, terrorize, and otherwise utilize whatever scare tactics are necessary in order to utterly vanquish the opposition so that we can rule the United States with our fire-brand, scorched-earth, “take-no-prisoners” politics.

Couldn’t have said better myself, Sarah.

What’s the Big F@%King Deal Fox News? V.P. Biden Did Not Tell Anyone “Go F@%K Yourself”

Cheney_GoFuckYourself3

So Joe Biden speaks honestly with President Obama today when congratulating him over the passage of the Health Care Reform bill after the President signed-off on it today at the Whitehouse.

BFD!

Well, keeping in line with their usual hypocrisy, Fox News is all a “twitter” - YES, the pun is intended – over the “party-like” atmosphere surrounding the celebration of the President and the Democrats in achieving a step towards reforming the U.S. health care system.  According to Fox and friends, you would think this was a drunken frat party.  And from reading their viewers’ responses, you would think Biden’s comment was a blasphemy to the image of the Office of the President.

So how did Fox News treat Dick Cheney’s admonition to Senator Patrick Leahy to “Go F@%K Yourself”, while standing on the floor of the Senate Chamber in 2004?

Like no BFD . . .

In fact, on The O’Reilly Factor, Karl Rove and Bill O’Reilly rationalized away Cheney dropping the “F’ Bomb on Leahy because the Senator had previously called for an investigation of Bush Administration ties to Halliburton after the company was granted a “no-bid” contract for the re-construction of Iraq after the U.S. invasion in 2003.   Cheney was the former CEO of Halliburton from 1996-2000.

Yeah, Cheney, there was certainly no appearance of impropriety there.  WTF???

However, Rove and O”Reilly NEVER referenced the rest of the story regarding Leahy’s attempt to address prior accusations  – a veiled smear tactic – by Cheney and company that he (Leahy) was a bad Catholic.  When Leahy approached Cheney in very a gentlemanly manner to inquire about that, Cheney gave his infamous response.

So where was Fox News’ indignation?  Or their readers outrage?

Fox News is a F@%King Joke!

Having the final word over today’s meaningless flap, Whitehouse Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said it best when questioned about Biden’s comment:

“And yes Mr. Vice President, you’re right.”

And Yet It Moves . . .

geocentric_universe1

MEDIEVAL CHRISTIAN MODEL OF THE UNIVERSE

No more famous words were ever spoken in the clash between Science and Religion.

Galileo’s name is synonymous with the former, having been called “The Father of Modern Science“.  But his deepest convictions regarding the scientific certainty that the Earth circled around the Sun (heliocentric theory) almost cost him his soul, placing him at odds with his own religion.

It was the year 1616, when the Catholic Church and all of mankind was still convinced that Earth was the center of the universe, and everything revolved around our world (geocentric theory).  After a very long and openly contentious battle with the Catholic Church over this issue, Galileo was forced to publicly recant his belief that the Earth circles around the Sun in order to save his soul - thereby avoiding torture and excommunication from the Church.  Legend has it that after he had “confessed” that the Sun revolves around the Earth, he reputedly whispered under his breath those famous words,  ”And yet it moves” - referencing the fact that the Earth does move.

As ludicrous as it may seem that the Catholic Church held such antiquated beliefs back then, and even forced a man of science to be brought before a religious inquisition, we should not ignore the power of religion to keep our minds stuck in the “Dark Ages” even today.  Case in point:  a biology text that is currently being recommended for home-schooled children which attempts to refute Darwin’s classic Theory of Evolution by replacing it with Creationist theory – which a Federal Court has already declared unconstitutional for inclusion in public education curriculum, and further debunked as unscientific.  Even worse is the fact that this “biology” textbook also contains a not-so-veiled threat in very stern terms warning young science students what they should believe if they want their souls to be saved.

Here is some of the text from that book:

[A] “Christian worldview … is the only correct view of reality; anyone who rejects it will not only fail to reach heaven but also fail to see the world as it truly is.”

So now ask yourself, does the Earth revolve around the Sun?

Be careful how you answer that question.  The salvation of your soul may hang in the balance . . .  as well as your child’s education.

Jon Stewart Eviscerates Fox News’ Viewers For Drinking the Bong Water

Informed News Media Viewership

Just kidding . . .

That was a shameless attempt to get Jon Stewart to reference this blog.  On last night’s The Daily Show (TDS), in a segment called The Blogs Must Be Crazy , Stewart lampooned the blogosphere’s use of certain words – particularly “eviscerates” – to describe how strongly some media talk show hosts respond to one another when critiquing their respective competitors.

Jon Stewart’s appearance on The O’Reilly Factor has created quite a buzz this week, and whatever you think of either Stewart or Bill O’Reilly, their willingness to appear on one another’s shows is quite refreshing, with a spirited but civil discourse taking place between the two of them.  I suppose the one irony in the show was O’Reilly’s cheap shot at Daily Show viewers by referring to them as “stoned slackers” – when surveys have routinely shown that they are some of the best informed news audiences.

It comes as no surprise that ”stoned slackers” would actually be every bit as informed as Fox News viewers, and are probably significantly smarter than Fox News’ talk show hosts – even when they are “lit up”.  If Daily Show viewers ever watched Fox News - which they are way too smart to do – wonder what they would think?

Man I wish I could get ahold of whatever theses dudes are smoking, because that must be some really high-grade  SH!T” . . . or . . . . Dudes, you are not supposed to drink the bong water.”
