And Yet It Moves . . .

MEDIEVAL CHRISTIAN MODEL OF THE UNIVERSE
No more famous words were ever spoken in the clash between Science and Religion.
Galileo’s name is synonymous with the former, having been called “The Father of Modern Science“. But his deepest convictions regarding the scientific certainty that the Earth circled around the Sun (heliocentric theory) almost cost him his soul, placing him at odds with his own religion.
It was the year 1616, when the Catholic Church and all of mankind was still convinced that Earth was the center of the universe, and everything revolved around our world (geocentric theory). After a very long and openly contentious battle with the Catholic Church over this issue, Galileo was forced to publicly recant his belief that the Earth circles around the Sun in order to save his soul - thereby avoiding torture and excommunication from the Church. Legend has it that after he had “confessed” that the Sun revolves around the Earth, he reputedly whispered under his breath those famous words, ”And yet it moves” - referencing the fact that the Earth does move.
As ludicrous as it may seem that the Catholic Church held such antiquated beliefs back then, and even forced a man of science to be brought before a religious inquisition, we should not ignore the power of religion to keep our minds stuck in the “Dark Ages” even today. Case in point: a biology text that is currently being recommended for home-schooled children which attempts to refute Darwin’s classic Theory of Evolution by replacing it with Creationist theory – which a Federal Court has already declared unconstitutional for inclusion in public education curriculum, and further debunked as unscientific. Even worse is the fact that this “biology” textbook also contains a not-so-veiled threat in very stern terms warning young science students what they should believe if they want their souls to be saved.
Here is some of the text from that book:
[A] “Christian worldview … is the only correct view of reality; anyone who rejects it will not only fail to reach heaven but also fail to see the world as it truly is.”
So now ask yourself, does the Earth revolve around the Sun?
Be careful how you answer that question. The salvation of your soul may hang in the balance . . . as well as your child’s education.
Teabaggers Are Tards!

TEABAGGER ANTI-STIMULUS PROTEST AT WHITEHOUSE ON 2-27-09
OK.
Let’s analyze this Tard logic.
1) Teabaggers (members of the American Tea Party) are so incensed that Rachael Maddow calls them by that name – sarcastically referencing the sexually-perverted act - that they have filed 1,239 Indecency complaints with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC)against MSNBC (subsidiary cable network of parent company NBC), the broadcaster of The Rachael Maddow Show.
2) The Teabaggers were the first ones to reference the term for political purposes in their February 27, 2009 anti-stimulus protest in front of the Whitehouse (see 2/27/09 post on web containing the picture above).
3) So now their politically-correct sensitivity is insulted?
Including the Teabaggers Chief Tard, Sarah Palin?
Hail to the Chief.
Golf Writers Association of America Relegated to Covering What Covers John Daly’s “Junk”
Posted by Lance Haley in Cultural Issues, Get a Life America, Humor, Media & Communication, Morality, Sex & Sexuality, Sports on February 23rd, 2010

After trying this past weekend to breathe life back into a PGA golf tour that is currently on life-support, the Golf Writers Association of America (GWAA) finally found a story they could really jump head first into today – as in collectively sticking their craniums up John Daly’s boxer shorts - and this story is one they didn’t feel so self-righteous about that they had to stage a boycott.
Thank God. The $$$ was starting to run out. Does anyone in the GWAA wonder why?
Memo to GWAA President Vatan Kupelian: Maybe if all you ostensibly principled golf journalists did not act so indignant over not having the liberty to ask “important questions” regarding the personal life of a golfer, you might not be relegated to having John Daly’s underwear endorsement deal be one of the top golfing news stories on a Monday following a relatively important PGA tournament.
Translation: Don’t bite the hand that feeds you.
P.S. Vaten – since having the liberty to make inquiries about one’s personal life seems to be beyond the boundaries of what you consider to be within the realm of decency, why don’t you ask John Daly if he has “skid marks” in his Slix?
Duke Lacrosse Team Rape Accuser Commits Hate Crime & Mike Nifong Hates Fundamental Unfairness of Truth

Duke Lacrosse Team Prosecutor Mike Nifong - Complained of Fundamental Unfairness of Disbarment Proceedings While His Puppy Was Eating His Law License
Do you recall that ugly scandal involving players for the Duke University Lacrosse Team, where a stripper named Crystal Magnum – boy was Chris Rock ever right about keeping your daughter “off the pole” - accused several of the players of raping her at an off-campus team party?
Remember the over-zealous Prosecutor Mike Nifong making racially-incendiary insinuations that the alleged rape was a hate crime – all for political gain – along with his other voluminous ethical violations?
Of course, nothing was further from the truth. There was never any crime committed that night. Except, of course – and I sincerely apologize to Duke University for not defending your actions - there was that unthinkable crime of underage drinking by college boys. Oh, the horrors of it all . . .
Earlier today, Crystal Magnum (did your mom really give you that name?) - that stripper who falsely accused those young white men of the rape – was arrested for allegedly beating the Hell out of her boyfriend, then throwing his clothes in bathtub and setting them on fire in an apartment. While being taken away by police officers, it was reported that she then yelled at the boyfriend, “I’m going to stab you [MotherF&%ker].”
She was charged with “first-degree attempted murder for communicating a threat” while in the presence of police officers, as well as five counts of arson, simple assault, identity theft, damage to property and resist, delay and obstruction of justice. Moreover, there may be three additional counts of child endangerment as a result of setting the fire in an apartment, presumably where the children were present.
All proving once again that she really hates men – black or white.
In a really twisted irony was Nifong’s response when confronted with news reports of Magnum’s arrest. Nifong told a reporter who called him in order to comment on the matter, that he doubted the truth of those reports since he believed media reports “to be of questionable value.”
I guess Nifong forgot about the fact that he didn’t hesitate to disseminate evidence of questionable value regarding DNA and other legal issues to the media during the Duke Lacrosse Team rape case.
Karma’s a bitch – literally and figuratively speaking - ain’t it Mike?
Jon Stewart Eviscerates Fox News’ Viewers For Drinking the Bong Water
Posted by Lance Haley in Bill O'Reilly, Business and Money, Conservatives, Cultural Issues, Culture Wars, Fox News, Glenn Beck, Media & Communication, Sarah Palin, The Daily Show, Uncategorized on February 4th, 2010

Just kidding . . .
That was a shameless attempt to get Jon Stewart to reference this blog. On last night’s The Daily Show (TDS), in a segment called The Blogs Must Be Crazy , Stewart lampooned the blogosphere’s use of certain words – particularly “eviscerates” – to describe how strongly some media talk show hosts respond to one another when critiquing their respective competitors.
Jon Stewart’s appearance on The O’Reilly Factor has created quite a buzz this week, and whatever you think of either Stewart or Bill O’Reilly, their willingness to appear on one another’s shows is quite refreshing, with a spirited but civil discourse taking place between the two of them. I suppose the one irony in the show was O’Reilly’s cheap shot at Daily Show viewers by referring to them as “stoned slackers” – when surveys have routinely shown that they are some of the best informed news audiences.
It comes as no surprise that ”stoned slackers” would actually be every bit as informed as Fox News viewers, and are probably significantly smarter than Fox News’ talk show hosts – even when they are “lit up”. If Daily Show viewers ever watched Fox News - which they are way too smart to do – wonder what they would think?
“Man I wish I could get ahold of whatever theses dudes are smoking, because that must be some really high-grade SH!T” . . . or . . . . “Dudes, you are not supposed to drink the bong water.”

Sarah Palin is the Real Retard in this Political Correctness Brouhaha
Posted by Lance Haley in Conservatives, Cultural Issues, Fox News, Media & Communication, Morality, Politics, Sarah Palin, Uncategorized on February 3rd, 2010

Levi Johnston - the father of Bristol Palin’s baby – contends that his “ex-mother-in-law”, Sarah Palin, would say ”where is my retarded baby”. Sarah and Todd Palin have a “special needs” child, and Sarah Palin denies that she ever referred to her baby that way. Frankly, I can see Sarah Palin saying something like that “tongue-in-cheek” (in jest). Having a sense of humor about these things is normal human behavior (as in the heading of this post).
Nevertheless, I digress.
For decades now in the United States, minorities and their advocates – most of which are Liberals – have long protested the use of certain derogatory terms as socially unacceptable. The most common example are racial slurs like the “N” word. This drive to “scrub” the English language of these terms was labeled as “political correctness” – a concept that references the agenda to create a social sensitivity to members of our society who are not part of mainstream America. Conservatives have routinely criticized “political correctness” as liberal nonsense, and ironically, Rush Limbaugh referred to “liberal activists” as retards . Now you want to talk about the pot calling the kettle black. Moerover, where was Sarah Palin’s outrage regarding on his political incorrectness?
Recent reports have surfaced stating that Rahm Emmanuel, President Obama’s White House Chief of Staff, was addressing a group of Liberal Democrat politicians last summer regarding their intended strategy to use “attack ads” against Conservative Democrats, and referred to them as “Fxxking retarded“. Now Sarah Palin has said that Emanuel should be fired.
I guess the irony of a “kike using ”politically incorrect” language while addressing a group of liberals is lost on Palin.
P.S. For those of you who are offended by my use of a politically incorrect term, you too are missing my point.
Inside the Mind of An Unapologetic Wall Street Investment Banker

“The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn’t exist.”
– “Verbal” Kint, The Usual Suspects
Ok. So you may or may not have cared to see or read about the CEO’s of four Wall Street banks who testified this past week before the Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission.
However, wouldn’t you like to literally go inside the mind of a Wall Street investment banker and understand how they rationalize away any sense of responsibility for the untold consequences of the financial collapse? If you have a beating heart in your chest, and blood in your veins, these quotes from a Wall Street investment banker’s blog defending the apparent indifference by these men to the financial calamity that they were complicit in and primarily responsible for creating should send shivers up your spine:
Investment bankers “have absolutely no interest whatsoever in the whys and wherefores of the financial crisis, the proper size and role of banks and investment banks in the domestic economy, or the moral imperatives inherent in stewarding the financial plumbing under-girding the daily lives and livelihoods of six billion people . . . [i]nvestment bankers have almost no interest in why things are the way they are. Rather, they spend all their considerable intellectual and psychological resources on understanding how they can take advantage of the way things are.”
Moreover, “their obvious lack of intellectual curiosity about the sources of the crisis . . . [explains] their resistance to any major change in the way the industry or the markets are regulated . . . changing regulations will [not]necessarily make the industry less profitable . . . [since they] have well-justified confidence in their ability to turn new regulations to their advantage.”
He goes on to conclude, “Don’t look to investment bankers for answers on how we got here. We don’t know and we don’t care [emphasis added]. We take the world as we find it and try to make money.”
After reading this, there should not be a shadow of a doubt in any one’s mind - - they are Financial Terrorists.
These men simply have no souls.
Fox News’ Hiring of Sarah Palin Makes Our Founding Fathers Want a Mulligan on Freedom of the Press
Posted by Lance Haley in Anti-government sentiment, Conservatives, Cultural Issues, Fox News, Glenn Beck, Media & Communication, Politics, Populists, Sarah Palin, Tea Party on January 14th, 2010

At famous cemeteries all up and down the East coast, you can hear their contorted bodies rolling over in their graves at night. Our founding fathers are watching Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin invoke their names on Fox News as though these two are patriots to the principles of truth and freedom.
In her interview with Beck on Tuesday, Palin even went so far as to make a poorly veiled attempt at comparing herself to George Washington, stating that “he was almost reluctant to serve as president, too . . . that is who you need to find to serve in government . . . those who you know will serve for the right reasons because they’re reluctant to get out there and seek a limelight and seek the power. They’re doing it for people. ”
Notice her use of the word “too“, as in “I also am reluctant, but I will do it for my country”?
You can be certain those comments make Thomas Jefferson and James Madison almost wish they could take a mulligan on the 1st Amendment’s clause respecting Freedom of the Press. After all, even men as intelligent as they were could have never envisioned two demagogues like Beck and Palin both employed by the same network. Think about it. Could you ever in your wildest imagination have believed there would be this much self-aggrandizement polished and wrapped under the guise of news and opinions?
Well thank goodness, Jefferson and Madison were also intelligent enough to know that most Americans would not listen to shameless frauds like Beck and Palin. Our founding fathers had enough faith in the wisdom of the American people to know that the principles of reason and logic would prevail over the false words and deeds from even the most duplicitous and disingenuous hypocrites that were in our midst.
That’s called Freedom of Thinking.
